The Editors and Designers of the SIME journal
will work together to provide the contributors and the
readers with the information they need to submit or retrieve
information in a manner that is easy to achieve. We will
use this page also to compile answers to the FAQ so that the
staff are not occupied by answering questions that have already
been answered.
Submissions &
documents:
At this moment we do not accept hardcopy
papers, all files must be emailed to the appropriate email
address as an HTML document or as a MS word document.
Special fonts and
symbols:
Any of the standard systems of
transliterations of foreign words are accepted as long as they
are embedded as text characters within the documents. However,
you may download the following font and keyboard template to be
used with MS word documents. Here is what you need to do
in order to be able to type the macron or the dot under certain
letters for instance:
1. download and install the font called
al-Huroof
2. save the the
Keyboard template on
your c: drive
3. open MS word application, from the Tools
menu, select Templates and Add-ins, check the box next to the
line where it says ARABKEY2.DOT, then press ok. Now change
the font of the text you are going to be typing (or that you
have typed already) to al-huroof font that you just installed,
then while holding the alt key, type the letter "a" and that
should type a with macron (ā)
Do the same to type any of
the other common special characters that you need like.
I you can see the special
characters below, you may be able to simple copy-and-paste them
instead of downloading the new font; however this process may be
more time-consuming.
